Built as a Gentleman's Victorian Residence in 1883, it is situated in an acre of woodland and gardens on an elevated position within the Torrs Park Conservation Area of Ilfracombe.

Guests have reported seeing a Victorian lady and gentleman descend the staircase, and a cat is also seen at the bottom of the stairs.
