February Ghost Hunts

Devonian Guest House - 28th March 2026
£33.00

Unleash Your Inner Ghost Hunter at the Devonian

The Devonian Guest House in Ilfracombe, built as a Victorian gentleman's residence in 1883, has gained a reputation as a ghostly hotspot. Situated in an acre of wood and garden in the Torrs Park Conservation Area, the property's picturesque-looking exterior belies the paranormal activity reportedly taking place inside.

Prepare for a spine-chilling experience at the Devonian. Experiences reported by paranormal investigators and guests alike recount unexplained movements of cat balls and poltergeist behaviour in the cinema area, taps turning on in the rooms for no apparent reason, and strange, disembodied sounds of water. One or two have even seen a Victorian couple strolling down the grand staircase, with a ghostly cat occasionally seen at the bottom.

Past investigations have yielded even more intriguing results: a faucet mysteriously turning on, a mischievous butler interacting with equipment, and poltergeist activity in the cinema room.

Dare to explore the Devonian and uncover its darkest secrets.

Ghost Hunt at Bitton House - 27th September 2025
£37.00

Haunted Bitton House

Bitton House was home to Viscount Exmouth, one of the great British Admirals. He lived in the house from 1823 to his death in 1833. He was born Edward Pellew and entered the Navy at 13. He was born in 1757, a year before Nelson. He is best remembered for defeating the Dey of Algiers (The Dey was an elected body of civilian, military and pirate leaders). The settlement with them after a massive bombardment led to the eventual cessation of the piracy and trading of enslaved Christians. Above the double doors to the gun deck at Bitton House is a stained glass window showing the Exmouth arms and commemorating the freeing of the enslaved people. The two cannons are souvenirs of his Algerian campaign.
